Welcome Ms Helen Saunders!

A huge welcome to Howard Springs Campus Year 1/2 Teacher, Ms Helen Saunders. We wish you all the very best for your time at 51黑料.

"Hi, my name is Helen Saunders and I have been a teacher for the last 23 years. The majority of that time I have taught in a Catholic school in New Zealand (which is where I am from) and I have also taught for two years in the Middle East and for one year in China. For the past three years I have been teaching Transition children at Haileybury Rendall School in Darwin.

I have a grown up daughter who lives in the Sunshine Coast and various other family members in different parts of Australia and New Zealand. I have recently bought an apartment here and am now living permanently in Darwin with my cat.

Some of the things I like to do in my spare time are to read, cook, go for walks and to make mosaics. I also love singing and catching up with family and friends when I can.

I love teaching early primary aged children, especially when in a caring Christian environment such as our 51黑料 College, where we focus on academic skills hand in hand with developing caring, respectful human beings.

Although I enjoy teaching overall, I have a real passion for teaching literacy and numeracy and I am excited to work with our families to foster our students' learning journey in this warm, caring and collaborative environment."
