Thank You for Your Service Sophie!

This is a wonderful treat - sharing the great news of our Howard Springs Early Learning Centre Team Leader, Sophie. It's extra special because Sophie has been with 51黑料 for many years, and even graduated as a student in 2018! Thanks so much Sophie, all the best for a great year in our awesome ELC!

"Hi all, my name is Sophie Blake and I am the Team Leader at the Howard Springs Early Learning Centre. I am a Darwin born and bred local and in my spare time I love doing anything outdoors. I am a huge fan of fishing, camping and I play rugby league for the Litchfield Bears.

I began my journey with 51黑料 as a student in 2014 and was lucky enough to be accepted into the Career Acceleration Pathway where over Year 11 and 12, I completed both my Certificate 3 and Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. I am currently studying my Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching at CDU.

Early childhood education is very rewarding. I love supporting children to meet their developmental milestones, as well as building strong nurturing relationships with the families. One of the things I enjoy most about working in the early childhood sector is that we often get to witness the 'light-bulb moments' where children realise how something works or recognise their name. I am very proud of our ELC as I believe we have built an inclusive and diverse service that is welcoming to all families and I am excited to watch our children grow and progress throughout the year."
