The School of Sport Education NT host a number of Gala Day events over the course of the year offering a large range of sports, aimed at promoting community across schools and building on physical literacy. For the purpose of the program, the Northern Territory is split up into the following regions:
- Barkly region
- Big Rivers region
- Central region
- Darwin region
- East Arnhem region
- Top End region
51ºÚÁÏ falls into the Top End region, and as part of our sporting initiative here at the College, students are given the opportunity to participate in Top End Region Interschool Sports (TERIS) Gala Day events throughout the year.
All eligible Year 4s, 5s and 6s will receive an invitation to TERIS Gala Day events.
Students in Years 7-12 are required to register their interest through the form located in the Daily Notices on SEQTA. Students who have registered their interest will then receive an invitation to the relevant TERIS Gala Day event.
51ºÚÁÏ students who accept the invitation will compete against other schools in the Top End region in their chosen sport on the relevant TERIS Gala Days. These events are a highlight for many of our students and offer the opportunity for them to try new sports or play their chosen sport in a different setting.

- Build community with their teachers, teammates, peers from other year levels, and students from others schools in our region.
- Demonstrate respect for the organisers, umpires, teammates, opposition, and teachers and staff members who have volunteered their time.
- Commit to the service of umpiring and coaching when needed – an especially good opportunity for our Senior School students.
Nomination and registration process
All eligible Year 4s, 5s and 6s will receive an invitation to TERIS Gala Day events.
Students in Years 7-12 are required to register their interest through the form located in the Daily Notices on SEQTA. Students who have registered their interest will then receive an invitation to the relevant TERIS Gala Day event.
Invitations will be sent to parents via email, who will then be prompted to accept or deny the invitation in TASS Parent Lounge.
Upon acceptance, parents are required to pay a $25 fee to cover the cost of registration and transportation to and from the event. Registrations close two weeks before the event, allowing the College enough time to form teams and register them with the event organisers. Late registrations will only be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
Once registered, students may be asked to attend training sessions in the two weeks leading up to the event.
As a College we reserve the right to withdraw an invitation on academic or behavioural grounds. In these instances, parents will be contacted by their child’s Year Level Coordinator.
